Post 08: English Language Challenges

Imagen
First, I wish to thank Miss Rosa for what she has done during the semester, her positive attitude, flexibility, support words as well as feedback regarding our work, were a crucial to helped us to feel more at ease, despite the pandemic context. It’s impressive that even though we only had online classes and she couldn't saw us in person, she always asked if we if understood everything or if we had questions left, she continuously encouraged us to participate but never force us. Due to all of that I believe her actions prove how passionate and thoughtful she is. This subject has been an experience full of challenges and constant learning, it made me to achieve a new English level, in relation to my grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. However, above everything else thanks to the week post, my writing has evolved a lot. I’m happy we were able to express ourselves through the blog by topics based on our opinions and personal experience, the platform was quite practical and dyna

Post 07: Changes to my study progamm

Sede Juan Gómez Milla Despite our global context, I think the development of my career in this university hasn’t disappointed me. Maybe I would have liked to live this process on better circumstances, but I either way I already knew it was going to be tough.  Regardless of the issues of this year, due to some of the subjects in journalism I’ve kept acquiring and evolving many tools, which are going to help me to correctly execute my future profession. Unlike the beginning of this year, now I understand better the weight of the responsibilities that I’ll have when I become a journalist, I’ve also improved a bit more in my English studies, as well as my level of writing and knowledge regarding the law. Although I learnt a lot, I also had difficulties, there are contents that doesn’t make much sense, specifically when they are related to analysed writings of decades or centuries ago, considering that unless they are associated to history or undeniably essential, I would like to avoid if

Post 06: Time Travel to the Future

I don't know exactly at what year I'd like to travel, but if I have the chance I would go to Chile, with the  primary objective to know  what is the outcome of all the politcal and social procedures our society has been through   this past years , besides I'll  also have in mind to observed how the rest of the world has grown on the future,   how is the level of technology,  if english is still the most spoken language,  if all military conflicts are over or if somehow we started new ones, etc .  I  would like to verified if we finally got a Constitution that can guarantee to protect and defend our human rights, as well as include relevant demands such as; a  quality  public health  , acompanny with a legal and safe abortion; to establish equal salaries no matter the gender identity of each person;  to set up a pluralist nation, as a way to respect our native people;  remove old institutions to open new ones, as a way to eliminate corruption;  reduce our levels of contamina

Post 05: My future job

Imagen
There are moments where you have to work or do other procedures to keep your lifestyle stable, but that doesn’t mean you have to be always in front of a desk and locked up in a building. I’d like my future job to be full of movement, because I can’t be still during prolonged periods of time, a specific fact that motivated me to search for a profession where I could be able to interact with people and travel (hopefully to places I haven’t been before), that is why I’m currently studying journalism, I'm hoping that someday I would become a journalist. I have always pictured my occupation will imply a lot of movement from my part besides paperwork, so if it’s possible I’d take every opportunity to develop my work outdoors as well. When you are a journalist that’s an often reality, which means I could be moving across the city in order to get information, make interviews or witness specific situations. Moreover, if my English or any other language is improved so that when I get my degr

Post 04: My favorite TV show

Imagen
I don't actually have a favorite TV programm, but I really like the German show “Dark” of Netflix. It’s place in a town named Winden, the story revolves around the protagonist, Jonas Kahnwald, a teenager who has suffered a terrible loss and is forced to face unexpected truths about him, his family and the people near him. The series begins with the disapperance of a person, situation that somehow is related to a bunch of police old cases and records. The programm presents previous events occurred decades ago, where some of the characters are involved. As the show continues, we get to know more things, the mysteries starting to make sense to then leave you speechless. Furthermore, the facts and explanations between the events from the past, present and even the future are so well accomplished that at the end of the series most of the things are explained, I think that it's what I like the most about the show, all the incidents lead to something specific at the last episode in

Post 3: A person I would like to know

Hans Zimmer   I’d like to meet Hans Zimmer if I got the chance, he is a german composer and record producer, he is very recognized for his work in films and videogame soundtracks. He is usually a calm person but has a wild side when he performs, according to his own words he is not good at talking and that's why he expresses himself writing music.   I admire that he somehow coordinates his music to the scenes and context of the movies, but the soundtracks that he prepares always have something particular, it could be a voice, an specific instrument, or the length of the track. But the way he mixtures different genres and sounds in just one song, is pretty remarkable, because he has the ability to produce feelings through his songs, how to make the audience feel: anxious, happy, sad, or moved depending on the respective scene. He is known for soundtracks such as: "The Lion King", “The inception”, “Batman: The dark knight trilogy”, “Interstellar”, “Pirates of the Caribb

Post 2: Songs and Memories

Peter Gabriel I think one of the moments I treasure the most happened when I was around 7 years old (I’m not so sure) and I watched a performance of a singer named Peter Gabriel. I don’t remember exactly why I was at my house that day (probably it was a weekend), I just know that when I entered the living room the TV was on, which was most likely my parents' fault. Moved by pure curiosity I looked at the TV and without noticing I ended up watching a live performance. At the moment I didn’t know but what I was watching was the last show of a tour of Peter Gabriel in 2003, Peter was singing along with a woman and I got impressed that despite the age he seemed to be his voice could be heard over the cheers of the crowd, it was so powerful. Futhermore I must say the song that left me speechless and I remember more clearly at that time was Downside up . It started as a slow song, then it began to get louder and suddenly Peter and the woman were hanging upside down by some cables abo
